A little about how we work

Our style is a collaborative process. We work from an integrated approach. We are psychodynamically oriented and may incorporate evidence based practices (such as cognitive behavioral therapy) into our work as appropriately indicated. Additionally, we take into consideration factors related to culture and diversity.

In our work, the working relationship between you and your provider is an important tool. For this reason, it is important to determine if we would be a good fit.

Please note that in response to COVID-19, we are only offering services virtually through telehealth options. No in-person, face-to-face services are offered at this time.

Okay, so what does that mean?

What that looks like is this:

Let’s take a look at what’s going on for you in the here and now. Is there anything in the here and now that may be triggering an experience, or experiences, from your past? If so, let’s help you understand how the past may be influencing your present. How do your past experiences influence your current perspectives and actions? By developing this self-awareness, we enact behavior change and alleviate distress.

Another way we enact behavior change is by taking a look at factors in the here and now that we can change to alleviate distress and help you manage more effectively.

For the things we cannot change, let’s build up your repertoire of coping skills to help you manage more effectively with the way things are.
